Devonport is about a 10 minute drive from Takapuna and on Tuesday (7th Jan - yes still playing catch up) we decided to walk/ climb up Mount Victoria. It was quite a hike up the mount, for us unfit Brits, but we made it and it was well worth it at the top with stunning views of Auckland skyline from the top. I think this would be a nice place to visit for and evening picnic to watch the sun go down.
Once at the bottom the boys got to dip their toes in the beach at Devonport. Devenport itself is a cute little town with quite a quaint English feel to it, some nice little restaurants, art galleries too and the all important ice-cream shops which we paid a quick visit to before heading back to our motel in Takapuna.
